Building Styles and Meal Plans
Westminster University offers a number of housing options for students living on campus. Whether experiencing traditional-style double occupancy rooms as a first-year student or living in apartment-style housing as a returning student, Westminster has it all.

Hogle and Carleson Halls (Traditional Style, Double)
Most first-year students live in Westminster's traditional-style housing: Hogle and Carleson Halls. Each building is equipped with wireless internet access, and there are heating and air conditioning units in each room. Each floor has 2 bathrooms with showers and a kitchen/laundry room with a refrigerator, stove and/or microwave, and card-operated washer and dryer. Floors in Hogle and Carleson Halls are assigned based on gender identity.
Housekeeping service is provided daily for the bathrooms, lounges, and hallways. Residents are responsible for keeping their rooms clean and will need to purchase their own cleaning supplies.
Each room is furnished with:
- Standard-size twin beds
- Wardrobes (closet and drawers, built-in or movable)
- Desk chairs
Upper-class, and transfer students all live in Westminster's apartment-style residence halls. Olwell houses returning residents while Behnken and Stock Halls are mainly for upper-class and transfer students.
Apartments house between 2 and 6 individuals, and each person has their own bedroom. Each building is equipped with wireless internet access, and there are heating and air conditioning units in each apartment. Each hall also has a laundry room with self-serve, card-operated washers and dryers. There is parking for residents in the lot behind Stock Hall. Residents are also permitted to park in both parking structures on campus.
Residents in each apartment are responsible for keeping their bedrooms and apartment clean. You and your roommates will need to purchase your own cleaning supplies and toilet paper.
Five and Six-Bedroom Floor Plan (Single Occupancy Apartment-Style)
Each private bedroom is furnished with:
- Twin-size bed
- Dresser (typically located underneath bed)
- Wardrobe closet
- Desk and chair
Each apartment has:
- Living room with couch and chairs
- 1–2 bathrooms
- 2 additional sinks and cabinets per bathroom located in the hallways
- Kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, stove, microwave, sink, cabinets, and a breakfast bar with stools
Residential students are required to purchase a meal plan for the entire academic year.
- Commuter students can voluntarily purchase any meal plan.
Your food and housing costs vary based on the building/housing style and meal plan you select. All prices are subject to change in May for the following academic year.
Damage Assessments and Appeals
Damage assessments are completed during May, after students move out of the halls at the end of Spring Semester. Assessments are compared to the room condition report where the student confirmed the condition of the room at arrival. All damage charges are sent to Student Account Services and emailed to students by June 1. Any charges placed on student accounts within 5 business days of notification. Appeals must be submitted in writing by the student with any supporting documentation to email@example.com by July 15.
If a student moves rooms during the year, an assessment will be completed of the old room within one week of checkout with any damages being sent to the student and Student Account Services within 2 weeks of the assessment.
Westminster University is committed to keeping residence halls compliant with fire safety standards. Students are expected to follow fire-prevention policies while living in the residence halls.
